Hello Tim,

You asked about good websites that cover web design.
There are many organisations with information about website design and accessibility.
Examples are the HTML Writers Guild (HWG) and the Wold Wide Web Consortium www.w3.org.
If you are interested in accessibility of your site you might also take a look at the
special
branch of w3, the Web Accessibility Initiative (www.w3.org/WAI). Other interesting
sites are
www.webreview.com and the site of Nielsen (www.nngroup.com). Nielsen is of course the
absolute guru in the field of usability of the internet. His weekly articles are a
must for serious
webdesigners. So is his latest book 'designing for web usability'.
There are many books about webdesign. I recently finished one myself about
accessibility of
internetsites and internet-based multimedia, making the Internet visually accessible
for
a fast growing group of internetters, the elderly (book can be ordered at
www.bartimeus.nl/publications.html).

Call me as soon as you find someone who can ship water through the net :-).
In the mean time I hope this information helped you. Kindest regards,

Eric Velleman

Listers,

A bit off topic, but does anyone know of some good websites that cover web
design? I'm supposed to be putting together our company site (eventually
with maps), and could use some pointers and ideas. It's just going to be an
information website - no e-commerce until someone figures out how to ship
water through the net.

TIA, will sum.

Cheers,
