Hi all,

We have gotton around one of the text handling issues by writing
mapbasic programs that generate the layout windows and place
the text exactly where it is supposed to be, at the size it is supposed
to be. This is great for having to produce multiple maps with the
same look (such as for a town plan), or for large size layouts
where the text handling is obnoxious.

You can edit the text and attributes from your text editor.
I don't know, though, if this addresses the long text problem, but
it may be easier to manage long text this way.

back
(if you have a fast connection) to see layouts that were designed in
mapbasic.
