I tried Virtual RAM Disk in Window 95 with MapInfo 4.0 and 4.5 some time ago.
It speeds up the process, and let me have a better sleep at night since I need not
hear the harddisk sound of my old machine.

But, bear in mind everything will lost if power cut away by whatsoever reason.

Subject: MI about the display speed

I notice when I Zoom in the map every time the mapinfo will read the map file from the disk.
If I copy all the files to a virtual disk which can be built by dos command, will the display speed be highed?
My mapinfo is running on WindowNT, so I can not have a try, can somebody try it?
