Before you go hareing off to check your code for errors, check the operating
system compatibility.
MapInfo Professional v5.5 is supported on the following platform/environments:
Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 4 or 5)
Windows 98 & 95
Office 97
MapInfo Professional v6.0 is supported on the following platform/environments:
Windows 2000 (tested but not logo-certified)
Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 4 or 5)
Windows 98 & 95
Office 2000 (tested but not logo-certified)
Office 97
I don't have the details for MapInfo Professional v5.01 to hand, but it is safe to say
it is not
going to be any more than those platform / environments supported in v5.5
