Hi,
I have a project that requires labeling the boundaries
of each U.S. census tract with the underlying streets
that run along each tracts perimeter. Currently, I am
adding each label painstakingly by hand. I cant turn
autolabeling on for my street layer because it causes
excessive label flotsam on the map layout. Rather than
label each street manually, I would think there is a
much easier way to label via SQL Select, MapBasic or
perhaps there is a tract file out there that has all
census tract boundaries labeled.

Granted, all tracts arent defined by street layout
alone, finding a way to label those tracts that do
have street boundaries would be a big help. The street
file Im using (by GDT) unfortunately does not include
fields for each street section that lists tract left
or tract right. Instead, there is zip left and
zip right which lists the zip codes found on each
side of each street.

Any help/advice/direction as to how to do this
labeling in an easier manner would be appreciated. Im
using MapInfo 5.0 and MapBasic.
Thanks.
