Check out CrashStats on VicRoads web site here in Australia. It is a pretty good
example of linking data and GIS and making it available to the public.

Good luck

Subject: MI Road Traffic Accidents and GIS
I am currently writing an essay on the use of GIS for coping with Road
Traffic Accidents within the United Kingdom.
I was wondering whether anyone had any information on the type of datasets
used etc. or any details of relevant websites that would be helpful.
Any information would be gratefully received.
Regards
