Hi Greg
You might be able to achieve that converting the contours to points along the lines,
run a TIN interpolation using Vertical Mapper, create a point grid (using i.e.
MapBasic) and then use a "Point Inside" function (I think it is in VM too) to assign
the values to the points.
However, depending on the precision you want to achieve, interpolating with a straight
TIN from points out of contours is a bit dangerous ... due to the "flat trangles or
terasses" that will be generated along valleys and ridges. One of the only products I
know of that can handle that is SPANS from PCI with its "Contour to DEM" module that
was developed at the University of Basel, Switzerland.
