Dear mr. Luk,

We have developed two MapInfo plugins that might help you out!

The first tool is HOTSPOT. Hotspot accepts pointdata and returns the a
thematic grid where the colors indicate a measurement for point density.
This tool was originally developed for the Amsterdam Police Department
policy unit. There is used for creating maps of crime-density.

Where HOTSPOT does not produce a nearest neighbour analysis in the sence of
Voronoy polygons, TRIANGULATOR, our second tool, does. It takes any point
map and can produce

- Voronoy (or Thiessen) polygons. (This is a nearest neighbour analysis)
- Delaunay Triangles
- A thematic slope map
- An thematic aspect map
- An interpolated grid
- 3D surface map (with mapinfo 6)
- Contour lines
- Contour surfaces

A time limited, but fully functional, trial version of both these products
and more can be downloaded at:
www.mercatorgeo.nl

Please have look and let me know what you think.

Regards,
Roeland

Subject: MI Nearest Neighbor Analysis

> Hi everybody:

on Nearest Neighbor Analysis to measure the extent of point clustering? Any
hint to help me locate such resources is much appreciated. Thanks.
