Use Table > Update Column

Fill out the relevant details in the dialogue box (the column to update will
obviously be the one you want the data stored in & you may need to create
this column through table maintenance)

Then click on the Assist button.

Use the following:

Column1 + Column2 + Column3

Don't forget to save the table.

Hope this works,

Jo

Subject: MI Automatic Column Update

Does anyone know of a way to automatically update a
column in MapInfo?
What I am doing is connecting to an Access database
via the power of ODBC. I want to combine the values of
three fields to make a unique ID. e.g. 1 N50 SE
would become 1N50SE etc.

I tried doing it in Access, and it did not like it at
all.

Any Ideas?

Grant
