I'm a very new MapInfo user and I'm trying to map out a set of addresses in a single county in Michigan. The addresses (approximately 180)were provided to me in an Excel spreadsheet. I've imported that into an Access database and added in Lat., Long., and GeoResult columns, set up as decimal (number type, double field size), decimal (ditto), and text respectively. I don't seem to have any problem geocoding these addresses. They all come out around 42 degrees lat and -86 degrees long. The problem comes when I try to map them out--the points show up off the western coast of South America. I've been trying to get them where they belong. I've removed the points your map, using Table\Maintenance\Table Structure and deselecting Table is Mappable. When I run Create Points again, I change the y multiplier to -1. When I open the layer up again, the points are dispersed across the continent in both directions in a straight line. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MAPINFO-L" in the message body, or contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
