I cannot really figure out if you are being ironic here.
For the case of geocoding addresses, left and right pertain strictly to
the digitized direction of the line - no matter in what geographical
direction it runs. And besides, streets may bend.

So it is perfectly all right to have a definition
FromLeft 56 ToLeft 2
if that segment happens to be digitized in the opposite 'direction' of
the numbering.

While it of course would be recommendable to digitize in the same
direction as the numbering, much available data may stem from the time
when automated drawing was the ultimate goal for map digitizers, and no
thought was given to GIS analysis, network creation or adress geocoding.
