I have a feeling you may be using an 'ATI' graphics card as I experienced
exactly the same problem. All you need to do is go into Control Panel, select
display settings and look at the advanced options for the ATI card. I think
there is a slide bar
labelled 'acceleration' which if you move all the way to the left should cure
your problem.
