They are not threaded so do not utilize more than one processor. However on
a dual processor box the operating system can split tasks on to the two
processors. This means that while that huge MI query runs you can still use
email or another program without much slowdown as MI is only fully using one
CPU.

PS I run a DELL Precision Workstation with dual P3 Xeon 500 cpus and 256
Megs ram. But this is really overkill for most MapInfo tasks.
