Here's a tough question for the ODBC/Oracle expert(s) out there that has me
completely stumped:
I have the following system configuration:
MI Pro6
ODBC Oracle7 Driver- v.3.60 (mior715.dll)
WinNT 4 SP4
Oracle SQL*Net Client 2.3.3
I'm trying to connect to an Oracle 7 database, but keep getting the
following error (from oracle):
"ora-12154: TNS Could not resolve service name".
In tracking this down, it appears that the Merant ODBC driver is attempting
to use Oracle's NET8 instead of SQL*Net 2 to resolve the connection.
How can I force MI to use SQL*Net, and not try to use NET8 to resolve this
connection?
