Grantley,
The "quick & dirty" way of getting two photos registered is simply to register
each individually.
You can then combine them in the map window.
You have to be careful that where the maps "overlap" must be about the same
distance from the centre of each photo, due to scale differences towards the
outside of the photo & radial displacement of trees, etc. If necessary crop the
raster files before trying to register them.
If the photos don't align very well, you can always have two map windows (a
photo in each) and align them in the layout window.
If you are planning to use photos regularly, and save registered photos as a
single raster image, you may want to invest in ER Mapper (or similar)

Subject: MI multiple raster image registration
List,
I am writing to ask what may be a very simple question which has me stuck
being a relatively novice user of MapInfo. I am using MI 6 Pro, and I have
scanned two 1:100 000 maps which are both in the same projection and have
the same datum information.
I have no problems registering one of these raster images to create the
required *.TAB file to use in MapInfo, however I need to register the two
images and join the two together to select a piece of the newly created
image to use as my base map.
If anyone could tell me in a relatively simple way how to join the two
together or know of a better way to go about the whole process then I am
most interested to learn.
This is quite frustrating as I feel as though it is a relatively simple
problem which is turning into a real mountain at the moment.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Grantley
