That depends on your skill and GIS level
If it's basic inspiration, thentry to look at GIS, a visula aproach by Bryce
Davis og the (very good) books, Beyond Mapping and Spatial Reasoning by
Joseph Berry (but there is a high risk, that you will want include rastergis
in your skills).
If it's interpolation, fussy, and other advanced topic's, the Burrough's
Principle of Geographic Information systems's is THE source.
And then tere is a lot of other good more GIS books, but a lot is aimed at
the students and a littel bit boring to a practioner
