Hello fellow MI users:

We are contouring geophysical data with Rockworks99 and hope to get a
vector coverage that can be brought directly into MI5.5 in state plane
coordinates or in lat/long and later reprojected.

Using Rockworks99, both the EZ mapper and gridded files produce suitable
contoured maps of the data. The files are exported to DXF files out of
Rockworks99. I used the MI5.5 Universal Translator to convert the DXF
files to a MI5.5 file. At this point the file comes in as a non-earth
coordinate file but retains the contour lines. If reprojected, all the
contour lines are lost and only squares or diagonal lines remain.

Suggestions?

If nothing else, can someone point me to public domain contouring
software that can produce files that can be imported directly into
MI5.5?

Thank you,

Jeff Reid
