You might try to enable editing on your text layer, select all and then go to A? (text
style) and change to the size you want. If you have too many this is not going to
work. Once I did something like to convert the txt object to point and used a clone of
the original table as attribute. This way I could control the size of the text objects
now as "point" entities. In fact this occurs if you take the txt obj TAB and export
via FME to Shape (AV). Automatically, the txt objects will be transformed into point
and the actual text will be their attributes.

Is there a way to determine the size of a particular Text object
programatically?
I have a layer which contain Text object of various sizes on one layer. It
is too much information, makes the resultant print out cluttered. However
separate the various size groups into its own layer would be of use when we
print in various scales.
