Hi Trey!
A Project in AV is like a workspace in MI.
That is, a project is a container for other data. Each set of data is
called a theme (=layer in MI). A theme can be data sets in various
formats, AI coverages, AV shapes and many others.
So what you need to do is to find 'add theme' (a + button) in AV, browse
to your shp files and there you should see them. Select those you want
to see and add them.
Then you need to check the little box to the right in order to turn them
on for the display.
