You can use the WinInet.dll api under windows. The URL below points to an
overview with lots of examples written in C. You can probably find examples
written in other languages by searching www.google.com og www.altavista.com
with search expressions containing "wininet" and the name of your preferred
language, for example "+wininet +delphi"
