When I use Edit>Copy to copy the contents of a map window to the clipboard,
I am getting greatly differing results.

With a map window that contains normal '.tab' files the operations completes
within a second or two. But if the window contains a linked table then it
takes minutes - that is if it is lucky to complete the task. Normally I run
out of memory or get some other error and MapInfo crashes.

Why should this happen and is there anyway of speeding up the operation for
a linked table?

What I'm tring to do is (in an integrated mapping application) copy the
contents of a map window and paste it as a picture to an OLE object field in
an MS Access table. This is done in VBA code, not manually.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Chris
