I built a utility that did a similar function where it created a link or view
of an object table and a database table. In my routine i would allow it to
periodically go through the entire table of data (assuming it was more
up-to-date) and determine is the object table had a relating record. If not it
would add a new record, update the linking field from the object table and
identify it as a record without a relating object.
I don't know if that is what you were referring to but that is how I did it.
