MapInfo 4.50 increased max nodes for a single-polygon region from 32K to
1,048,572 (1MB - 4). The node limit for multi-polygon regions is less than
for single-polygon regions, dropping by 7 for each two additional polygons.
Assuming that you are running MapInfo 4.5 or higher (what is the number in
the VERSION record in the MIF file header - 450?), then you have the ~1MB
node limit.
You may need to write a program to process your mif file to reduce the
number of nodes (e.g. discard points that are too close together) to below
the limit.
These limits may be affected by the operating system i.e. Win 95/98 or Win
NT/2000, the latter possibly having much higher limits.

Peter Smith.

Subject: MI-L Importing MIF files
I am having problems importing .mif files.
OK they are rather large 2 - 3 Mb but when importing them I get the error
code "region too complex".
Does anybody have a suggestion or cure?
The programme I am importing the .mif files from is PathLoss , a
Telecommunications radio coverage prediction package.
