I'm sending this out in the desperate hope that somebody out there might
have any answer they can share. I'm building a MapXtreme Java
application with an applet and a servlet. All of the maps are being
generated by the servlet and passed down to the applet. My problem is
that I wish to allow the user (from the applet) to select a symbol to
use to override the default display for a point layer. I can't seem to
figure out any efficient way to pass the symbols from the servlet to the
applet so the user can choose one visually.

If anyone has done something like this or has any ideas that they can
share, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Gary.
