There is a TAB2TFW.mbx converter on the directionsmag site that does t what
you want. ( I made a modified form of it to do a bulk conversion, if you are
doing lots of 'tiles' you may want to try it, let me know ). The tab2tfw.mbx
works very well although we had an occasional problem with divide by zero
errors for some maps. However, if our experience is anything to go by, you
may have a problem with the image itself..little things like arcview not
liking LZW compressed tiffs etc, someone else on the list may be able to
give a list of acceptable formats. If you have to batch convert the images
too; paintshop pro is fast and cheap.
