Mapbasic looks like embedded VBA, and so some servers will interpret
those messages as oozing with viruses, and so they red-bag it. If you
first zip up all files you plan to attach, then your message will be
smaller, and most servers will let it pass.
However, the MapInfo-L server is now gnawing off all attachments, so you
will no longer be able to send them via MapInfo-L. Send them via private
email, or upload them to http://www.directionsmag.com/Tools, and
announce it here.
Nevertheless, even though some servers will see *included* MapBasic as a
virus, the MapInfo-L server will not, and you can send source code in
your messages as an inclusion rather than an attachment. Sending Mbx's,
tables and any other binary file via email here is now out of the
question.
We live in a bright, new world with a growing dark side these days... it
pays to be "cheeky."
