David,
Any GPS will do the job as long as you get one with an external antenna
(they don't like working from inside a vehicle no matter what anybody says
!!)and a RS232 output such as a Magellan or Garmin.
The updates are usually done one per second.
The software you can use is PCPlus or any communications software. It put all
the data into a text file and it can be analysised in Excel or similar
programme.

Subject: MI-L Data Logging
What system/software and GPS unit would people out there
recommend to do the following:
Log the speed and location (BNG Eastings & Northings) of a
vehicle every 5 seconds...It would be ideal if the logging time could
be changed to any amount of increments and also locational
accuracy if very important, so possible links to dGPS?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated?
Cheers all, Dave
