Hello Joe

I can only think of one way to do this without MapBasic:

1) Run TAB2MIF on all your files.
2) Change your MIF's with a program you would have to write in Delphi, VB,
C++ or
whatever you are comfortable with.
3) Run MIF2TAB on all the new files.

TAB2MIF and MIF2TAB can be found at
http://pages.infinit.net/danmo/e00/index-mitab.html
Step 1-3 could be wrapped up in a good old-fashioned batch file.

If you don't like this solution, I think the answer is to get MapBasic and
use it for your job.
