We are pleased to announce the next meeting of the Carolinas' MapInfo Users Group ( http://www.jchgis.com/usergroup_meeting.html). Thursday, March 1, 2001 from 11:30 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. as part of the NC GIS Conference, NC GIS 2001 - A Spatial Odyssey. (http://cgia.cgia.state.nc.us/ncgis2001/index.html ) The NC GIS Conference is being held in Winston-Salem, NC at the Benton Convention Center, adjacent to the Adam's Mark Hotel. The Users Group meeting willprobably be in the hotel. The meeting room will be announced at the show. The exciting part of the meeting is that Andy Dressel, one of the original founders of MapInfo will be the speaker. Social Hour from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Speakers from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.. All MapInfo Users in the region are encouraged to come, participation in the NC GIS Conference is optional but is encouraged. The registration fee options are: Exhibits only - $10; No lunch included. Daily registration - $60; Full registration for Thursday and Friday - $90. Full-Time Student Registration - $25 If you opt for participation in the show, please come by the strategically located JCH/MapInfo Booth. (Main entrance, directly across the isle from the massive exhibit of a well know GIS software firm; see http://cgia.cgia.state.nc.us/ncgis2001/exhibitors.html). There should be several representatives from MapInfo as well as the JCH gang working the booth, so this should and excellent opportunity. We are hoping that we can generate a significant MapInfo presence. Identify yourself as MI User Group member (coming to the meeting means you are) and we will try to have something for you. I hope that many of you will be able to attend. Please drop me a quick reply off List if you know your plans so we can try to have the conference provide a large enough room this year.
