I don't know why you can't do a multi-select, but for the past few days I've
been trying to get help on the API call in MapBasic so I can use the common
dialog to do a multi select. I receive some help on the topic. However, I
got the API to work on my Windows 98 Laptop, but when I select multiple
files it only returns the path. When I select one file I get the Path and
file. On my NT workstation the function will not work for either case.
When I use VB API code it works on both platforms, so my dll is Ok. If you
would like to take a look at my current code I'll email it to you. At this
point I may include a VB or DELPHI program to expose the Common Dialog ,
use it for a multi-select and pass the information back to MapBasic. Not the
way I want to do this.

Subject: MI-L Opening Multiple Tables using MapBasic
When one uses File >>> Open Table in MapInfo you can select multiple tables
(using Shift or Ctrl) in a given folder/directory and open them all at once.
In MapBasic you can use the FileOpenDlg() function to open one table at a
time. I note, you cannot select more than one table using this method, i.e.
the shift and Ctrl. keys have no impact.
Does anyone know of a way doing this in MapBasic, short of designing an
entire dialogue sequence to do this?
Ay suggestions greatfully received!
