HI,
MI 6.5 beta is said to contain topological check, though I've not tested it
yet.
Otherwise, you may download  TopoCheck from my site. The free version is
limited to 10 000 nodes, but since it can work on selections, if you do not
have poly with more than 10 000 nodes it'll do the job, and works from MI
4.5
