Still on the grid generation program, and having a fair bit of success. Have reduced the time down to 80 mins per million pixels to calculate proportion of pixel covered by a layer and 3 other attributes (down from 7 hours). Probably still behind some of the specialist software, but serves our needs. Actually this is the most fun I've had with MapBasic for quite a while, which means its time to go and get some sunlight now. But before I go, In an example MapBasic program for grid generation provided by Andrew Dressel, there are definitions for two types of grids, continuous and classified. THe dll's provided only cover the continuous grids. I surmise that the classified grids are like the discreet value grids that are produced from gridding polygonised regions. While I have written a MapBasic program to create a continuous grid for such a coverage (distinct values), would I be better to write these to a classified grid? If so, Are the the dll calls for a classified grid also available?
