How do you define the word "curves?" 

Polylines are constructed from straight line segments, so you
would have to specify some moving average combination of segment
length and direction change to test for "curve" vs. "not curve."
For example, do you select one, both, or neither segment in a
two-segment polyline that goes due north for 10 km and then due
east for 10 km?
