Hello Ian,

The mapper, browser, etc. windows' background color may be changed through
the Windows desktop properties: right-click on an empty space on the
desktop, scroll to "Properties", click on the "Appearance" tab, click on the
"Item" arrow and change "Window" color.  Of course, this will also change
the background color of all your other Windows applications.

If you would like to change the color of the space upon which the mappers,
browsers, and what have you are displayed, then do the same as above but in
"Item" select "Application Background" instead of "Window".
