Hello Briant,

There are several ways to get USGS DEMs. Free DEMs in the SDTS version are
available at:

http://edcwww.cr.usgs.gov/doc/edchome/ndcdb/ndcdb.html

You can download them as fast as your connection will allow.

Information on SDTS is at:

http://mcmcweb.er.usgs.gov/sdts/

Native format DEMs continue to be available for purchase via FTP or on
CD-ROM. The turn around time for data via FTP is approximately 24 hours
(usually quicker). The turn around time for DEMs on CD-ROM is about 1-1
1/2 weeks.

Another new option is the National Elevation Dataset (NED). NED is a
seamless dataset; more information can be found at:

http://gisdata.usgs.gov/

Please contact us if you have further questions or comments.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth McCartney
