Hi Tim,
It sounds like ERDAS format - I say "sounds like", because ERDAS images used
to have a .lan extension, with a separate .sta file holding image
statistics. It's about ten years since I've used ERDAS, so forgive me for
being extremely rusty! I'm pretty sure ESRI products can support ERDAS
images directly.
Hopefully the .lat extension is just a typo for .lan - or am I barking up
the wrong tree again?
