List,

I just installed MI and MB version 6.5 on a Windows 2000 computer and am
getting a strange message. If I double click on my MBX (my application)
through windows explorer MI starts to load the application and workspace
and then displays this message: "Error--Cannot rerun filename.mbx while
an application is executing."-OK button---the application however
continues to load with no problems in the background. Now if I go into
C:\Program Files\MapInfo\Professional 6.5\TOOLS and double click on one
of the mbx files in there I don't get this message. I even created just
a simple mbx that displays a message and get the same error message.

The only way I found around this was to go into the properties of the
applications shortcut and set the target to: "C:\Program
Files\MapInfo\Professional 6.5\MAPINFOW.EXE"
"C:\Avail\AVLDispatchMap\DispMap.MBX" --so basically i had to enter in
the path to the MapInfow.exe.

Does anyone know why you can't just double click on the mbx itself to
open in MI? It didn't seem to be a problem with Version 5.0.

Thanks
