Hello all,
we're pleased to announce that the most recent USGS DEM data
is now available at the GISDataDepot (and the GeoCommunity)
at http://www.gisdatadepot.com/dem/
FYI, earlier this year there were some apparent positional
errors detected in the data
>From the USGS...
"SDTS DEMs created before January 1, 2001 may contain up to
30-meter horizontal error. The error may affect user
applications where absolute positional accuracy or
tile-to-tile relative accuracy is critical. These errors
were generated during the conversion from USGS native DEM
format to the SDTS DEM format.
Native format DEMs do not contain these positional errors."

The GeoCommunity, in a partnership with the USGS, now has
the complete, corrected DEM data available for free
download, fast download, or purchase on CD-ROM. FYI, this
data will no longer be available for download from the USGS
web portal.
Our new DEM homepage can be found at

DEM Bundles can be purchased at

Be sure to let us know if you offer value added DEM products
or services so we can get you listed in the additional DEM
resources.
Regards
Glenn
