Jun 1, 2001: Barry Sahgal, senior managing director at Brean Murray,
spoke at recent meeting of the Stock Pickers Club and listed MapInfo
(symbol: MAPS) as one of three to buy. The (extremely) brief
analysis is here:

Also in June, Business Week listed MapInfo as the No. 1 company in
terms of average annual earnings growth, up 849 percent over the
past three years.
Jul 16, 2001 in The Business Review, an Albany-based journal:
MapInfo's Streak Ends by Richard A. D'Errico

There's a lot of conflicting analysis between this month and last,
yet only two of the nine analysts tracking MapInfo stock have
downgraded it so far, despite the fact that it's pretty low right
now. It seems to me that the business hasn't changed and the
product's still outstanding, so is this a good time to buy or is the
weight of the world taking MapInfo down along with the rest of the
market?
