Hi Luis,

before you do the update open the mapbasic window and type in

        set coordsys table mytable

where mytable is the name of the mapinfo table you are using. This will set
the coordinate system to be the same as the projection of the table.

Regards

Martin

Subject: MI-L Coordinate transformation

Hi,

sometimes I try to get the coordinates of some points (update column ---->
CentroidX,Y) and the coordinates only appear in degrees. I want the
coordinates in metric system.
This only happens sometimes and I don't know why.

I have the coordinates in UTM-ED50 (29). If I double click the object the
coordinates are in metric system, but if I update column the coordinates are
in degrees.
The file is projected in UTM ED50 (29), I "save as" changing the projection
but the result is always the same.

In previous versions there was a bug that we ned to chose first Non-earth
and only the the coordinate system that we want to change to. I also tried
that but it won't work.

What can I do to update columns with coordinates in metric system??

Thanks
