It is a pretty amazing move- not only that the USGS would do that, but that the New
Directions site would
think the GIS community wouldn't mind.
I am not a rebel rouser or anything, but if people are mad, there are a few things
they could do besides
complain to the USGS:
1. Unsubscribe to the New Directions daily news. This probably accounts for most of
their hits. Adena
Schutzberg's GIS monitor is much better anyway
2. Stop advertising with them
3. Stop posting resumes
4. Stop posting jobs
Now is the time, before the SRTM data becomes available.
