Alejandro,
>From what you have said it appears that at the time of your pan/zoom
operations the MapBasic routine is updating your table, so MI cannot read
from the table while a Save is being performed. As this behaviour is
occurring frequently because your routine is updating all the time, I doubt
you will be able to find a way around this. I don't know whether opening the
table through the ODBC route provides better facilities or not, but it may
be worth a try. Another option you could look at is gettin g your MB routine
to save a copy of the table periodically and open the copy of the table for
viewing instead of the live table.

Subject: MI-L Multiuser Problem
Hi all !
I have a problem and I need help please !
We use Mapinfo v5.5 and MapBasic program compiled over 5.0. The platform =
is Windows 2000.
We have two PC.
On PC 1 I have a very simple MapBasic application updating all time a =
table (inserting, deleting, etc). This application Open the table in a =
FastEdit mode and inmediatly after inserting, deleting, etc I do a =
Commit Table. (So, I think never are there pending changes for more that =
miliseconds or a few seconds !). Also we set the File TimeOut 100.
On PC 2 I just open the same table but in a ReadOnly mode. Also I have =
set the File TimeOut 100.
The problem is that when I want to pan, zoom, etc sometimes (almost =
allways), appears the next message error:
Cannot access file XX.dat for reading.
Please be sure that this file is not open in another application.
Is it possible to fix this ?
The newest release, fixed this problem ?
I will appreciate a lot your help
Best Regards
Alejandro
