Hi Steve

In answer to question 3: Is it possible to display more than one field in
the hint balloon?

Yes, the balloon displays whatever you have set up as the 'label' for that
particular table. If you've not set up a label, then it defaults to the
first field in the table. Set the labels up in 'layer control' but don't
necessarily tick the label box (you can, but only if you want to see the
labels all the time). If you set the label as an expression (from the
drop-down list of fields), and set something like FIELD_1+", "+FIELD_2,
you'll see both fields separated by a comma.

hope this helps

Caroline

Subject: MI-L Several MapInfo questions

Hi all,

I have some questions regarding MapInfo 6.x

1) Is there a way to rapidly access addresses?
If a table has street names, is it possible to have a window
where the user types in what (s)he wants and the list updates
as you type. Then selecting the requested street name would
    bring you to that address?

2) How many objects can MapInfo handle? Is there a limit? I mean
is it possible to handle up to 2 million objects?

3) Is there a way to display more than one field in the hint balloon
displayed when moving the cursor over an object? It is possible
to select what to display by selecting the label field of that
layer, but what if I want to display several information at once?
Any way to customize those popup information baloons?

4) If a table has the right georeferencing but the projection is
wrong (it has been goofed at some point), is there a way to change
that projection information without altering the coordinates?

Thanks for any help.

Sincerely,
Steve JORDI
