Hello List,
Earlier this year I worked for a Queensland Local Government where we
migrated all of our MapInfo data to the new GDA using FME software and
scripts developed in house to overcome FME's limitations. I'm now
working for another Local Government who are about to undergo the same
process, but before we start developing our implementation procedure, I
wanted to hear from other Australian Local Governments using MapInfo who
have already migrated (or are currently planning / testing),
particularly those who used a distortion grid / model to see if there is
an alternate way for us to migrate.
Also of interest to me, is anyone who did not use FME but the
transformation engine supplied by the State Government to develop their
own transformation application, or anyone who used only MapInfo.
Any comments on your findings / experience would be greatly appreciated.
