Hi
This can easily be done in mapinfo: Just select where town="Roma" and commit
as a new table called Roma. Repeat for other town names. Perhaps the problem
is you have a lot of town names or don't know how many there are? I guess
there is no mapbasic program ready for such a situation, but it shouldn't be
too difficult to write.
