Listers, Thanks for the help with the 'Style override' question, much appreciated. I now have another question: I have a simple program that reads an Excel spreadsheet that has been registered as a MapInfo table. if another users has the Excel spreadsheet open this stops my program from opening the spreadsheet, which is to be expected and I've done an error handling routine to cope with this. Unfortunately after this error occurs the .TAB file associated with the spreadsheet is deleted and this happens if the table is opened through MapInfo as well. Has anybody come across this problem and can anyone suggest a way of testing to see if the spreadsheet is opened by another users so my application doesn't try and open it as well?
