Dear list; We are trying to write a document regarding naming conventions, storage conventions, etc. for MapInfo-based municipalities, counties and other public sector bodies. We would like to know how is it commonly done in various places; once we have the paper written we will, of course, make it publicly available on our website (jchgis.com). Let me know if you would like to see it posted, too.
Meanwhile, we would like to know common ways of naming street files water bodies/lines parcels utilities zoning/land use public facilities political boundaries and other commonly used data layers. Also, we would like to know how do you commonly store files a) by project b) by content type c) by object type or any other way?
