Hi, For such a task you will need to use the old and slow way of locating the nearest points. Download ToolBox from my website and look at the zip file inside the zip file (yes, just like a Chinese box). You will need to adjust the mapbasic code for your need. Only problem is if you have many points. Then it can get really slow.
Your second goal can be achieved using the same code, but I think you will need to do some more modifications.
