Nathan, I have not used SQL Server 2000, but have used SQL Server 7 for this operation. You are probably correct that it is a permissions issue, although until you are granted permission and try it again, you never know for sure! One thing to be aware of when using data from SQL Server is that the connection made to the database will fail if you are trying to use data types such as text, ntext or image. MapInfo are aware of this issue and have sent a Word document outlining 3 possible workarounds which I would be happy to forward to those interested.
