Hi Dan! Maybe you could explain what you mean by 'the original line and point styles'
I believe that shape files (unlike native MI tabs) carries no graphic attributes, and the graphic attributes you see in ArcView are similar to a display style or thematic map in MapInfo. Thus, when MI reads a shape file it sees only the raw geometry and no map styles. The cartography is stored in the AV project file, and if you could use that as a template for the import, you would see the 'original style' I have not seen if Arcview 8 means any change to the above said. Please correct me if I'm all wrong.
